A number of both ex-BR and industrial locomotives could be seen at the Booth-Rotherham Roe Metals scrapyard on 22 May 1989. Class 11 No.12099 was introduced into service from BR Derby Works in March 1952 and saw use at many LMR depots including Nottingham and Willesden before joining the NCB fleet, visiting Wales and Yorkshire prior to reaching C.F. Booth's scrapyard at Rotherham from where it is seen here shortly after arrival from Bowers Row Disposal Point, near Castleford, and in the company of another ex-NCB loco, Rolls Royce works No.10257 built in 1966. 12099 was sold on to the Severn Valley Railway in 1990 and is usually employed as the Kidderminster yard shunter. A batch of class 11 shunters (12113-12122) were allocated to Hull Alexandra Dock shed for shunting the extensive dock lines, but all were withdrawn from service by May 1971, 12121 actually being disposed of at this scrapyard.
