Cecil Raikes Southport 140298 BR404
The Mersey Railway's No 5 a Condenser fitted 0-6-4T 'Cecil Raikes' built by Beyer Peacock in 1886 is seen outsade the Steamport, Southport shed on 14/2/98. the loco was sold by the Mersey Railway to Shipley Colliery, Derbyshire in 1904. it worked at the Colliery for a further 50 years before being retired it then spent time at Derby Works before being donated to National Museums, Liverpool. ©Colin Whitfield/Railphotoprints.co.uk
