It may be well known that an ex-BR Scottish Region class 06 Andrew Barclay (works No.459 built in 1960) 0-4-0 diesel mechanical loco found its way to Kent prior to export, but not so widely known that it was employed , before export to Italy, on shunting duties at Queenborough Wharf on the Isle of Sheppey. During my first of many visits to this fascinating location and railway system I photographed D2432 in between shunting duties at the wharf attached to an ex-SR brake van (S56184) on 24th January 1971. ©Gordon Edgar/Railphotoprints.co.uk
