CLASS 411 4CIG
1544-London-Victoria-220885-GE544
A Dover Marine service departs Victoria just before midday on 22nd August 1985, with class 411/5 (refurbished 1957 type 4-CEP) No.1544 of Ramsgate Depot leading. These units were synonymous with Kent Coast services from London and usurped the regular steam-hauled services in the late-1950s. This particular unit was eventually taken out of service by South West Trains in May 2004. ©Gordon Edgar/Rail Photoprints
