Designed by Urie for the LSWR, just 5 locos locos were built and introduced to traffic 1921/22, they were based at Feltham (70B) their primary duty was cross London trip freight working and some ECS work out of Waterloo. Rather suprisingly despite the small number built all of them completed 40 years in service before withdrawal en masse in late 1962. 30518 is seen at Waterloo while on ecs work on 1/9/62 shortly before withdrawal. ©Neville Simms/Ranwell Collection/Rail Photoprints
