GWR 'Duke' 4-4-0 3289 ex works at Swindon shed, 24/5/35. The loco was put to traffic 7/1899 as 3326, named 'St Austell', the loco was later de-named following a request from the operating department who were concerned that the nameplate could cause confusion to passengers by thinking that the nameplate was a train destination board. The loco was renumbered 3289 12/1912, and it became 9089 in October 1946, withdrawal came 7/51. ©Rail Photoprints Collection
