Holmes J36 0-6-0 65224, 'Mons', this was one of several J36 's that went to France with the ROD during the First World War, it was returned to UK 5/19, in 1948 it was allocated to St. Margarets, Edinburgh, being withdrawn in May 1963 after a working life of 72 years and 2 months, seen at Baileyfield Road Sidings on the Leith South branch near Portobello Junction. St Margarets shed used these sidings as an overspill for their 0-6-0 locos, circa 1956. ©railphotoprints collection
