The Unique Class 89 89001 'Avocet' another case of what might have been on Britain's Railways, designed at Brush, built at Crewe and introduced to service at the Derby test centre, sadly repeated mechanical problems led to long periods under rectification, it was sold to Sea Containers 9/96 but its reliability problems continued, photographed on Exhibition duty at Doncaster Works 26/7/03.
