Gresley designed P1 2-8-2 2393 plods up the East Coast Main Line with a New England - Ferme Park coal service. The 2 members of the class were fitted with 'Boosters' on their trailing axles supposedly to assist with hill climbing and starting heavy loads from stand, the boosters were removed in the Mid 1930's, both locos were withdrawn in 1945. ©www.railphotoprints.co.uk - collection
