Green liveried MSJA Class 505 (allocated but not carried) Driving Car M28580M on shed at Altrincham, 17/4/71. These 1500V DC 3 coach sets were built by Metropolitan - Cammell for the commencement of Manchester - Altrincham services which commenced operation 0n 11th May 1931, in May 1971 the line was converted to 25KV operation and all of the 505's were replaced by Class 304 units. ©R.
