Eastfield based K4 2-6-0 61995 'Cameron of Lochiel' at Perth shed, 14/4/56. Gresley's K4 Class was a class which comprised a total of 6 x 3 cylinder 2-6-0 locomotives loosely based upon the K2 2-6-0, the locos were designed specifically for use on the West Highland Lines, in 1945 No 3445 was rebuilt as a 2 cylinder locomotive by Thompson becoming the prototype for the K1 Class, the remaining 5 K4's remained in service until late 1961, 61994 'the Great Marquess' being the last in service it was purchased by Viscount Garnock and is still with us today. ©David Anderson/Rail Photoprints
