A1 Pacific 4474 'Victor Wild' passes Wendover with an up express for Marylebone, 3/6/39. At the time the loco was allocated to 9G Gorton but 10 days later it was reallocated to Leicester GC. Rather surprisingly it was rebult as an A3 Pacific during WWII emerging from Doncaster Works on 1/10/42. ©George C. Lander/Rail Photoprints
