6542 Langwith 1940 RPC073
Robinson designed O4 2-8-0 6537 at Langwith, 1940. The loco was built by Nasmyth Wilson for the ROD being put to service as ROD1719 in 8/18. It was transferred to the LNER as 6537 after overhaul at Gorton 29/10/25 being re-allocated to Woodford Halse 13/11/25, it then spent time at Doncaster, Woodford Halse (again) before being transferred to its last LNER shed at Langwith Junction 27/9/30, iut was withdrawn from Langwith 19/9/41 and transferred to War Dept stock becoming 748, on 17/10/41 it was shipped from Ellesmere Port for service in the Middle East, the locos final fate is unknown. ©Railphotoprints.uk - collection
