With snow on the distant San Francisco Peaks a long telephoto lens enhances the undulating topography of the Arizona desert between Winslow and Flagstaff. BNSF 4091 and FMX 4504 clamber out of the hole with an empty railtrain, on the 2nd track BNSF 5497 and 871 head a westbound rake of Autoracks. On the left hand skyline headlights and diesel exhaust forecast the approach of 4 locos on an eastbound doublestack some 2o miles away, 9/2/07. ©John Chalcraft/Rail Photoprints
