The commencement of the new timetable saw Greater Anglia implement an improved 'high speed' service between Norwich and London Liverpool Street, the second train of the service was 9P93 the 17.00 Norwich - Liverpool Street headed by Class 90 90001 'Crown Point' seen heading away from Ipswich at Belstead. The afternoon train completed the journey in 97 minutes having lost 8 minutes between Stratford and Liverpool Street due to traffic congestion. Despite the late arrival it is obvious that the ageing Class 90's are still capable of operating the new accelerated schedule of 90 minutes, it will be interesting to see what the Class 745 'Flirt' units can achieve, 20/5/19.
