Quite literally the end of the line aon an appropriately grim, overcast day - The shell of class 25 25215, introduced to BR in December 1965 as D7565, has been reduced to small pieces of scrap metal and class 40 40134 is next in line at Swindon Works 'Con Yard' on 31 October 1983. By 10th November the 'Forty', introduced to BR service in March 1961 as D334, had been reduced to bogies and frames and by 19th November it was no more.
