Built by North British, Glasgow in 1950 10800 was an 827HP Diesel Electric Bo - Bo fitted with a Paxman 16RPHXL V16 Engine with BTH Traction Motors after a troubled working life which saw it in service on both Midland and Southern Regions it was withdrawn 8/8/59, the engineless body was moved to Brush Traction at Loughborough where it was re-engined becoming a mobile test unit, it was moved to Derby Research and Development unit for testing , in 1966 it was moved to the Great Central, May 1966 saw it back at Brush but a lack of funding saw it withdrawn in 1968.
