The last class 15 BTH loco to be built, D8243, was converted to a coaching stock pre-heating unit and, in connection with the steam charter services running out of Marylebone during the winter period was employed on heating the stock. At London Marylebone station in the Autumn of 1985, just after being transferred from Old Oak Common depot and was still attached to a brake van.
