It's May 1957 as the first 'Pilot Scheme' diesel loco English Electric Type 1 D8000 makes a test run from the Vulcan Foundry, it is seen on the approach to Frodsham, note the loco is fitted with steam heat pipe, as were production locos from D8000 - D8127, however the locos were through piped only not having a fitted steam heat boiler.
