The first Castle Class 4-6-0 4082 'Windsor Castle' at Reading 1934. This loco swapped identities with 7013 'Bristol Castle' when 'Windsor Castle' was required to haul the funeral train for 'King George VI', unfortunately the real '4082 Windsor Castle' was unavailable as it was in Swindon Works so the identity switch was made the then 7013 which became 4082 and remained as 4082 until withdrawl in 1965. Note the plate above the numberplate which commemorated the loco being driven from Swindon Works to Swindon Station by King George V on april 28th 1924. ©www.railphotoprints.co.uk - collection
