The Prototype Hall 4-6-0 4900 'Saint Martin', was rebuilt from Saint Class 4-6-0 2925 retaining the same name it was introduced to traffic in 1924 and underwent 3 years of extensive trials before Collett was sufficiently satisfied with performance that he ordered a further 80 of the new
