The gutted remains of Class 27 27043 at Eastfield depot 25/4/82. The loco was withdrawn with fire damage 21/4/80 then moved from ZH to ED where it found occasional use in conjunction with re-railing exercises, it was removed from its bogies in 8/85 and on 12/11/85 the body was taken to Pattersons tip at Mount Vernon, Glasgow where it was wrapped in Polythene sheeting (to prevent blue asbestos contamination) the package was then dumped into a large pit where presumably it remains today. 25/4/82. ©John Chalcraft/Rail Photoprints
