9630 Tyseley 100966 NS2008-02
Ex GW 0-6-0 Pannier Tanks 9630 (with 9610 behind) in steam at Tyseley 10/9/66. The 2 locos had been cosmetically cleaned in preparation for working the SLS's 'Farewell to the GWR Pannier Tanks' railtour from Birmingham on 11/9/66, unfortunately 9630 blew a cylinder cover during the climb of Hatton Bank and had to be removed from the train at Lapworth, sister loco 9610 worked the train back to Birmingham New Street unassisted. ©Neville Simms/Ranwell Collection/Rail Photoprints
