It never ceases to amaze me how quickly the scene changes on our railway. This snapshot in time at Carlisle on 15 July 2003, a regular occurrence at the time, with 56069 heading the Carlisle to Tees Yard 'Enterprise' with 'Hoyer' ISOs from Workington Dock waiting on a centre road for 67022 to depart from platform 4 for Low Fell, heading the 'Postal' would soon no longer be an everyday scene to savour. The dominant early privatisation days of English Welsh Scottish Railway would soon find a level on the network among over railfreight providers as traditional business on the railway, such as Royal Mail, would diminish. The scene on the railways is a moving feast and you never know what lies around the corner!
