The sun sets on Gresley 'A4' Pacific No.60034 in September 1966 at Perth depot. Once a proud 'racehorse' on the mainline, it will no longer turn a wheel in anger. Just withdrawn from service and its 'Lord Faringdon' nameplates and smokebox numberplate burned off, all that remains is a one way journey to the scrapyard. It was despatched to Hughes Bolkow, North Blyth in the November and was no more by the end of January 1967.
