Class 105 53362 Stratford GE362
Final months for the Cravens Class 105 DMUs in London with 53362-54126 on depot at Stratford TMD on 25th October 1985 standing between part of the former steam motive power depot and the diesel depot replacement, with a class 37 just visible inside. The following April 1986 Stratford depot unveiled its Cravens Class 105 ˜heritage" unit (53359+54122) restored to original green livery to mark the final weeks of DMU operation in the Great Eastern London area. It was subsequently transferred to Norwich depot 12 May 1985, the last depot in the UK to operate Cravens units.
The BR Class 105 diesel multiple units were built by Cravens Ltd. of Sheffield from 1956 to 1959 and built with a side profile identical to BR Mark 1 carriage stock, using the same design of doors and windows. None were selected for refurbishment and the last passenger car was withdrawn from service in 1988. ©Gordon Edgar/Railphotoprints.co.uk
