In external condition so commonplace of the period when BR diesels shared facilities with steam locomotives, BRCW-built Type 2 Bo-Bo (later class 26) D5316 moves off Kingmoor (12A) shed in July 1966. D5316 entered service in February 1959, spending time at Hornsey before moving to Haymarket in April 1960. Renumbered 26016 under the TOPS scheme, it was the first TOPS-numbered example to be withdrawn, in October 1975, and the first withdrawal for fire as opposed to accident damage.
