British Rail Scottish Region's Easter Grand Tour passes Hoddesden Junction, on the former L&Y Blackburn - Bolton line behind Britannia Pacific 70013 'Oliver Cromwell', 13/4/68. The tour took in the Waverley route (both ways), The S&C (southbound) before heading to Manchester Victoria, Crewe and ultimately Stafford where the train terminated. Return was via Crewe, Manchester Piccadilly, Wigan and the WCML to Carlisle before taking the Waverley route to Edinburgh, motive Power used was D1110, 70013 & E3078.
