1750HP Type 3 locos, introduced 1960 308 built by English Electric at Vulcan Foundry and Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns at Darlington. Locos became the Standard Type 3 power, used throughout the BR system. Various locos modified and refurbished during the 1980's to form Classes 37/3, 37/4, 37/5, 37/7 and 37/9.
