Despite some rationalisation in recent years, Workington (Main) station still retains a 'traditional railway' ambience, more than can be said for the surrounding yards which once served Moss Bay steelworks and Solway Colliery during happier days in the town. The sign pointing to "Moss Bay Corus" is still located on the post to the right of the chimney, despite the works having closed almost a decade ago now.
