Preserved Stanier Jubilee 4-6-0 45699 'Galatea' is almost on home turf as it runs through Newton Meadows with its support coach running as 5Z69 14:40 BISHOPS LYDEARD WS RWY - 19:47 SOUTHALL having worked 1Z46 from Paddington to the West Somerset Railway. Galatea was allocated to Bristol Barrow Road for 13 years from 1948 to 1961 during which time it appeared at Bath Green Park on several occasions via Mangotsfield and the Midland Line, the Midland Line ran through Newton Meadows running parallel with the GW line just 50 yards north of the GWR on the other side of the River Avon, the former LMR trackbed (now a cycleway) is behind the lower row of trees in this photo, 13/8/16. ©John Chalcraft/Rail Photoprints
