Built in 1909 2239 was a member of the 2221 Class 4-4-2T's which were primarily used on ouiter London suburban serviuces from Paddington, in the 1930's they were made redundant by the arrival of the 61xx 2-6-2T's and all of the 2221 Class were withdrawn by 12/34. 2239 is seen at Didcot in September 1934. ©Rail Photoprints Collection
