The end of (non-preserved) Deltic service on BR came on 2/1/82 with the operation of a farewell tour from Kings Cross - Edinburgh. 55015 'Tulyar' was the chosen power for the northbound leg, with 55022 heading the return working to the Cross. Photographic weather conditions were dire with thick, damp, cold fog and fist for the trip, well in keeping with the mood of many who made the trip out to pay homage to the passing of one of the greatest classes of diesel locomotives ever to grace Britain's Rails.
