Doncaster in the early hours of 26 July 1980 with 31202 waiting with an up parcels service. Introduced into BR service as D5626 in June 1960, this loco suffered an ignominous fate and was one of two locos that ran away at Cricklewood depot. The incident was on 28 October 1988 and involved 31202 and 31226. 31202 was the leading loco and was withdrawn immediately, being cut into two halves on site at Cricklewood prior to removal by road to Vic Berry's scrapyard in Leicester for disposal. ©www.railphotoprints.co.uk - Gordon Edgar
