D5006 on a local service at New Romney and Littlestone-on-Sea station on 26 August 1961. The station opened in 1884 and closed in 1967. Released from Derby Works on 3 January 1959, D5006 was at this time allocated to Hither Green (73C) depot) and worked local passenger services on the branch in the intervening years between the withdrawal of steam traction and the introduction of diesel-electric multiple units. ©Gordon Edgar Collection/Rail Photoprints
